The Shirt

Manufacturer: Asics

Sponsor: Thistle Hotels

Season worn: 1995/1996

Competitions: Premier League, FA Cup

Player shirt features: Unreleased style

During the 1995/1996 season Premier League sides could name, and use, 3 substitutes. Teams often named no substitute goalkeepers to give them more outfield options, running the risk of having to play an outfield player in goal if the goalkeeper was injured or sent off. This happened twice with Leeds that season, with Lucas Radebe being called on to play in goal on both occasions.

No patches, names or numbers were put on the shirts because of the issue of squad numbers. This is style of shirt was used on both occasions, it was never released as a replica.
